Day 01 Ollantaytambo – Salt Mines – Moray
On the first day of our sacred valley and Inca trail to Machu Picchu, we will visit the alternative sacred valley!
We will visit the Inca living town of Ollantaytambo known as that due to the old house still inhabited by the locals.
In this place you will have the chance to explore the megalithic building at the top of the terraces, unfortunately, are unfinished due to the arrival of the Spaniards
Then we will drive up to the salt mines here we will see how the locals since the pre-Inca time are obtaining salt by evaporating warm salty water, you will see more than 3000 thousand small pools where they harvest salt after this amazing place we will continue to the famous circular terraces of Moray this Inca site is unique among other sites because we will see 4 circular terraces believed to acclimatization and hybridization of wild vegetables.
Our last place to visit is Chinchero is known as the city of the rainbow, famous for the mountains view and well preserved Inca terraces and its colonial temple as well here you can find textiles weaving center after this place will drive to your hotel in Cusco.
Day 02 Cuzco – Ollantaytambo – km. 104 – Machupicchu!!
We will pick you up from your hotel in our private transportation, in order to take you to Ollantaytambo train station from where you will take the train around 7:45 am to the starting point of your trek, from Ollantaytambo the train will follow the sacred river until you will reach the kilometer 104 where you have to show your passport once you pass the checkpoint you will have time to get ready and use the toilet. Following, you will start hiking before you start with the uphill you will visit Chachabamba Inca site after this you will start with an official hike uphill for approx. three hours until you arrive at the wiñaywayna Inca site along the way you have an outstanding view of the Andes mountains, orchids, Urubamba river is one of the tributaries to the amazon river and other Inca sites. Once you arrive at wiñaywayna you will explore and your tour guide will give you more information about this site afterward you will continue to the official fourth-day Inca trail camp in where you will have your box lunch after lunch you will continue to the sun gate this section is jungle or considered as high jungle lush so you’ll be in the shade once you arrive at the sun gate you will have an outstanding view of Machupicchu and the surrounding mountains afterward you will start going down to Machu Picchu for 45 minutes.
The advantage of this two days Inca trail is by the time that we will arrive to Machu Picchu will be fewer people because the one-day visitor will be going back to Cuzco, will be perfect to take photos after taking photos you will take a bus to Machu Picchu pueblo head to your hotel then you will go to a restaurant where you will enjoy your dinner after dinner we recommend you going to bed early in order to start early tomorrow.
Day 03 Machupicchu!
Your tour guide will pick you up early from the hotel them you will go to the bus stations in order to board one of the first buses to Machu Picchu, enjoy the sunrise at this magnificent citadel (of course this depend of the weather) these buses start running at five-thirty am and take 25 minutes to get once you in macho Picchu your guide will give a two hours tour of the citadel then you have free time to explore the place if you have purchased the extra hike either Machu Picchu or waynapicchu mountain your tour guide will take you to the entrance. Wayna Picchu mountain takes 45 minutes to get to the top and another 45 minutes to back down and Machu Picchu mountain takes an hour and a half to get to the top another hour and a half to back down. Those need to be booked in advance and cost 65 USD per person. When you are done exploring the citadel you have to take the bus back to macho Picchu pueblo in order to have your last lunch with your group this lunch is not included in the tour package but you can organize with your tour guide then you will head back by train to Ollantaytambo where our private transportation will be waiting for you in order to take you back to Cuzco to your hotel.
