Choquequirao Trek 5 Days

DAY 01 CUSCO – CAPULIYUC – CHIKISISCA

Our Choquequirao adventure starts at 5:30 am and drive in our private transportation to the starting point for 4 hours approx. we will pass through beautiful viewpoints like the glacial of Salkantay Mountain, Tarawasi Inca site then we will pass the Cunyac bridge which in the border of Apurimac and Cusco department finally we will arrive to Capuliyuc where our horsemen’s will be waiting for us here you will give your duffle bags to them and you will have time to get ready to start our adventure to the sister of Machupicchu we will start going down from Capuliyuc for about 3 hours more or less along the way we will stop to absorb the views, the path is gravel, dusty and slippery  so you need a good trekking pools and good hiking shoes until we arrive at our first lunch spot called Cocamasana from this area you will have spectacular view to the Apurimac canyon, the river with the same name and the mountains and of course the incredible flora and fauna along the way. After lunch we will continue for one hour more to our first camp called Chikisca it has a lovely location, of course, our tens will be set up ready by our amazing team, end of the day.

DAY 02 CHIKISCA – MARANPATA – CHOQUEQUIRAO

Early in the morning you will have a wake up call with a nice hot coca tea then you will have breakfast, today we will start early in order to avoid the sun so we can hike in the shade because in the sun it is so hot, we will continue going down until we get to the Apurimac River after we cross the river we will start with the uphill for about 4 hours more or less in a zigzags on the way we will appreciate some sugar cane farms, and of course as soon as we getting higher we will have better and better view of the Valley now from opposite mountain  after 4 hours of climbing finally we will arrive to our lunch spot a small village call Marampata here our team will be waiting for us with a delicious lunch After a good lunch we will continue with our hike to our destination (Choquequirao) if we are lucky we may see condors around here once we get to the summit you will have breathtaking view to the Apurimac canyon then we will get to the lower terraces of Choquequiraro where we will spend our second night, in case you want to see the sunset you can go to the upper section to enjoy it but it takes 40 minutes hike, afterward comeback to the camp.

DAY 03 CHOQUEQUIRAO (THE CRADLE OF GOLD)!

After a great breakfast we will go to explore Choquequirao in this amazing place you have the entire day to explore all around Choquequirao, of course you tour guide will explain you all about this place and about the Incas after you finish exploring we will go back to the camp to enjoy our lunch after lunch you will have a free afternoon so you can go back to the site and keep exploring or just relax and recharge your energy at the Inca site of Choquequirao.

DAY 04 CHOQUEQUIRAO – MARAMPATA – CHIKISCA

After a good relaxing day we will start with our adventure back the same way all the way to Chikisca so again we will pass by Marampata then we will get to the bottom called playa Rosalinas which the lowest part of our hike and the hottest section after we cross the river we will start climbing for two hours until we get to our camping spot Chikisca where our team will be waiting for us with a nice coca tea and warm water end of day four.

  • Lowest altitude: Playa Rosalinas (1550 m) (5085 ft.)

DAY 05 CHIKISCA – CAPULIYUC – CUSCO

We will have a wake up call by our team then breakfast following we will say goodbye to Choquequirao and start with our hike the section of our adventure this will take us about four hours to get to Chikisca where we will have our last lunch before we get back to Cusco after lunch we will have small ceremony with our team where we can show our gratitude for their hard work then we will board our bus back to Cusco city and drop you off at your hotel.

 INCA QUARRY TREK 4 DAYS

The Inca quarry Trek to Machu Picchu is one of the newest alternative trekking routes in Cusco region. close to Ollantaytambo town, the Inca quarry trek takes you along the incredible waterfall, Inca ruins and beautiful scenery of the Sacred Valley and mountains surrounding the valley one of the fascinating place will be the Inca quarry from where the Incas took stones to build Ollantaytambo Inca site. 

The highlight of this trip is Cachicata, the quarry that supplied the stones used in the construction of Ollantaytambo here we can see some tumbs, chullpas and well preserved Inca buildings, this is one of the most interesting sites in the Cusco region, because here you will see and understand how incas splited and transported stones.

DAY 01 CUSCO – SOCMA – RAYANNIYUC

  • We will collect you from your hotel in our private transportation at 5:30 Am
  • We will drive for 2 hours more or less along the sacred valley until Socma
  • In Socma we will meet our team, get breakfast and get ready to start our adventure
  • We will hike for one hour and a half and arrive at the beautiful waterfall then we will continue going up for one hour and a half more we will arrive at the Inca site
  • At the Inca site, you will explore and relax with your tour guide
  • Then you will continue with the hike for one more hour until Rayanniyuc where we will have our first lunch and spent a night.

DAY 02 RAYANNIYUC –  PUKAPUJIO PASS – QUARRY PASS – CACHICCATA QUARRY

  • You will have a nice wakeup call with coca tea after we will have nutritious breakfast
  • After breakfast we will start with our adventure it will uphill along the way we will see local families, the uphill will take us 3 hours more or less
  • Once we reach the summit we will have time to enjoy the spectacular view of the sacred valley.
  • Then we will go continue for 20 more minutes to our lunch spot where our team will be waiting for us with great organic food
  • After lunch, we will continue with our adventure this section will be Inca flat much easier but the last 20 minutes will steep to conquer the second mountain in one day!
  • Here you will have a great view of the sacred valley and to the glacier of Veronica
  • Then we will start going down the first section will steep and gravel for 1 hour and a half then the path will get gentle
  • After two hours and a half hike, we will arrive at the beautiful Inca gate which is facing the glacier of Veronica from where we will have a spectacular view of Ollantaytambo City.
  • After this amazing viewpoint, we will continue 45 minutes more for our second camping site where our team will be waiting for us ready with the tens.
  • Total hiking hours 8 to 9 hours depending on the group pace!

DAY 03 CACHICCATA QUARRY – OLLANTAYTAMBO – MACHUPICCHU PUEBLO

  • after a good breakfast, we will start the adventure
  • this day will much easier because will be all down
  • this day we will hike only three hours until Ollantaytambo town
  • on the way down we will see the Inca stones that are ready to take to the town and built Ollantaytambo
  • at Ollantaytambo, we will have our last lunch
  • after we will say goodbye to our amazing team
  • then we will head to the train station in order to board the train to Machupicchu Pueblo
  • at Machupicchu Pueblo we will go tour hotel here you will have time to enjoy your shower
  • in the evening we will visit a restaurant where we will have dinner after dinner you will organize the wake time with the tour guide
  • then you will go to your hotel to rest for the following day

DAY 04 MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO

  • Your tour guide will pick you up early in the morning from the hotel
  • Then you will take the bus to Machupicchu bus trip last 25 minutes
  • Once in Machupicchu, you will have tour guided service for two hours more or less
  • After the tour, you will have your free time you can explore more the citadel of Machupicchu in case you have the ticket for Wayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain you will do by yourself
  • After this, you need to take the bus to the town where you can buy your lunch before you take the train back to Ollantaytambo
  • In Ollantaytambo, a representative of Andean Soul Adventure will be waiting for you to pick you up and take you back to Cusco.
