Huchuy Qosqo Trek 3 Days
Huchuy Qosqo Trek 3 Days
Huchuy Qosqo trek to Machu Picchu follows the original Inca trail that connects Cusco with the sacred valley of the Incas and this tour combines stunning landscapes, Inca sites, amazing view to the snowcapped mountains, and spectacular view to the Sacred Valley—all of this in just a two days hike. Most important, this Huchuy Qosqo trek is peaceful, not crowded. Our tour ends at the new wonder of the world Machu Picchu!
Huchuy Qosqo
Is a town located in Lamay at elevation of 3,550 meters above sea level on a small plateau on the mountain slope. From here you have a beautiful view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where the local people until nowadays grow the biggest corn in the world.
Huchuy Qosqo Incan site was built by Wiracocha a small important citadel, the original name was Jaqui Ccahuana this name was changed in a colonial time to Huchuy Qosqo (little Cusco) due to its similarity to Cusco City, this little citadel played a very important role in the Chanca invasion, the Chancas where warrior people and the keen decided to abandon Cusco City in order to be saved in Huchuy Qosqo, in this time of period they enhanced the buildings.
This hike is recommended for people who want to have an easy to moderate hike in the Andes of Peru. Personally, I like the smooth ascending path to reach the Summit and the mini canyon with the spectacular Inca site of Huchuy Qosqo and arrive at Machu Picchu. One of these citadels must be visited if you are planning a trip to Cusco Peru.
